X-ray fluorescence spectrometer is widely used for elemental analysis.With the development of XRF,the accuracy-requirement of this instrument is more strict to distinguish complex-element or same element with different valence state in nature.The automatic control system of goniometer designed in this paper is the core part of the scanning X-ray fluorescence spectrometer,which can provide high precision angle positioning to improve the resolution of elemental analysis.High precision goniometer is the key part of Development and Industrialization for A Composite W-ED X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer,developed by Nanjing Center,China Geological Survey.The main contents of this paper are as follows:1)Designed the bottom driving circuit of goniometer with FPGA chip bysurveying different kinds ofgoniometers and studying the principle of X-ray fluorescence spectrometer.The bottom circuit usepulsetransmission to control the motor.With stepping motor subdivision,angle resolution of goniometer reaches 0.001°(2?)resolutioneventually.Designed the protection-circuit with photoelectric-sensor,the sensor is used as limit-protection and initialization-position switch.2)The upper control interface,which is used to communicate between PC and goniometer bottom driving circuit,is built by Visual Studio C++2013 MFC library.This communication uses CAN format.Single or union action,constant or step scan can be controlled by using this interface.3)Summarised adjustment method of X-ray optical path,which can determine initial position of goniometer effectively.Achieved thecoincidence between optical zero and mechanical zero and improved the accuracy of elemental analysis.The performance of goniometer has reached the design-requirement with thedetection of no-loading and loading.What's more,through elemental analysis of W-ED X-ray fluorescence spectrometer,the precision(RSD)is succeed in detection of X-ray fluorescence spectrometer verification regulation.
