In the vehicle lightweight research process, vehicle safety engineer not only needto to ensure the body lightweight but also make the veihcle achieve the goal of safety.based on the actual demand of vehicle safety and lightweight development, This papermade the following research:Through the research on full width frontal impact test in CNCAP, the basicrequirements of guarantee body structure frontal impact the security are summarized.Withthe help of HYPERWORKS software,the full width of the frontal impact test vehicle finiteelement basic model based on CNCAP regulations was established, Import ls-dynasoftware to solve,analysing simulation result, benchmarking with test data.finally I get thefinite element model which has higher accuracy.Based on orthogonal test method, appliedto established vehicle simulation model well. Five evalution indexes for front impactcrashworthiness were proposed and then puts forward the safety influence of the fivefrontal impact crashworthiness evalution indexes, simulation analysis was conducted onthickness changes of sheet metal parts,the influence of body forebay sheet metal partsthickness on crashworthiness of the front impact were analyzed. Reserch shows that:whenbody forebay sheet metal parts were proposed for body lightweight based on orthogonaltest method, Reasonable combination was existed among sheet metal parts,According tothe order of body forebay sheet metal parts change for front impact evalution indexes, sixparts after the order were selected to simulate and analyse, meeting the requirements of thecollision safety after lightweight, the quality get lighter by3.404kg than the original one.This paper research can make the frontal impact influential sheet metal parts tosort in the vehicle lightweight process effectively, saving the time of research and development, not only can ensure the vehicle frontal crash,but also can achieve the effectof lightweight,the research result indicates that Orthogonal test method has certainreference to the vehicle lightweight processing and crashworthiness analysis.
