A Research On The Development And Innovation Of Decorative Wood Components In Interior Design

As the representative of Chinese architectures,timber architecture was the synonym of China and the carrier of Chinese traditional culture.It was famous for the beautiful building constructions and its artistic values,imposing a wide influence on the architectural styles of neighboring countries.Combined by tenon-and-mortise work,structural units in different position were arranged by lap joints to form the timber construction,which formed a complete system and enjoyed an enduring popularity.The wood components in this paper mainly referred to the building components which were made of woods and lapped in specific ways.Traditional Chinese wood components included the big ones such as the beam and pillar and the small ones used for interior decoration.The symmetrical beauty,along with the uniformed color and exquisite sculpture,created a beautiful and vivid interior space in harmony.The unity of structure and decoration served as spatial features of traditional wood-framed construction.This paper was focused on the development and innovation of decorative wood components in interior design.The related research cont ents were defined to determine the study object and its scopes.That is to say,the studies were made on the functions,contents,developments and innovations of the beam and pillar in traditional Chinese timber architectures.From the perspective of historical development,the explorations were made on the beam and pillar components in traditional Chinese timber architectures for their development process and functions in interior design.Besides,the current situation and innovative application of decorative wood components in interior design,at home and abroad,were combined in the study to summarize its feasibility.At first,the current situation,purpose and significance of the research were introduced.Then the detailed analysis was made on the description of the interior design,the development and innovation of the decorative wood components.The studies were carried out on the functions and contents of decorative wood components,the historical development of decorative wood components and their innovations in interior design.Finally,the innovative principle and method of decorative wood components in interior design were concluded.Based on above research,the practical and innovative design were made to create an interior space in accordance with people's demand.
