Study On The Landscape Characteristics Of Settlements Along The Border Wall Of The Miao Areas

Under the background of the rapid economic development,many settlements are affected by the foreign culture and the modern technology.The original landscape were destroyed,and became into ordinary village made by steel concrete.Therefore,the research on the protection of settlements landscape is imminent.With the border wall system of the Miao areas,this paper,talking settlements along the border of Miao areas as the research object,studies and analyzes its settlement landscape by methods of landscape recognition.Its main content is as follows.Firstly,through literature comb and desk study,the natural environment,historical evolution,spatial character and defense connotation of the border wall system are analyzed from full scale.Secondly,after combing the current situation of the settlements,five settlements are selected as the research object,besides,a method for identifying the settlement landscape characteristics,which is suitable for the settlements along the border wall,is proposed.Thirdly,according to this method,the landscape characteristics of the settlements are identified from the two aspects: entirety(history,location,overall space)and factors(farmland,vegetation,water,living space),at the same time,the human perception(color,texture,space,etc.)are integrated in the identification.Fourthly,summarize the common(regional landscape character)and speciality(landscape characteristics)between different settlements and extract the key characteristics.The common is aimed at settlements along the border wall,and the speciality is aimed at typical settlements.Lastly,protection strategy are put forward from three aspects: the whole border wall,the settlements along the border wall and typical settlements.Among them,the whole scale involves protection of ruins,surrounding environment,and cultural environment,the second level refers to protection of regional landscape character,and the third level relates to landscape characteristics.All in all,the research is aimed to provide a new way of thinking for protection of settlements along the border wall system of the Miao areas.
