The Research Of The Conservation And Utilization Of The Settlements Of The Republic Of China Based On The Form Feature

The development of Nanjing once fell behind the similar domestic cities after China entry into the modern stage.Coupled with the influence of Taiping Rebellion,Nanjing was a deserted city until the early republic of China.Then the Kuomintang government established its capital in Nanjing and carried on city build brief but fruitfully.Since then,the urban features of Nanjing has had the great change,it has got a strong Characteristics of the republic of China comes from the preserved buildings.During this period,the residential district made of the urban houses become the most basic element of constructing urban form,and paly an indispensable role in the process of shaping urban features.Because building Conservation concept already thorough popular feeling,so the Conservation and utilization work of residential area which build during the period of the republic of China,increasingly get attention in Nanjing.In the first chapter,tracing the developing course of Nanjing residential buildings during the period of the republic of China and the construction of residential area under the guidance of the capital plan,and make a discussion to determine their value.Then in the second part,reviewing the building process of building Conservation subject,to redefine the relationship between Conservation and utilization and their concept.It start from the building forms,studied the influence of different form elements for building Conservation and utilization in the third chapter.Finally,through the case-study of Yihe mansion and Meiyuan Xincun practices,give a research of Conservation and utilization base on architecture modality,in order to accumulate the experience to improve our work in the future.Hope this research can benefit the Conservation and utilization work in the future.
