Since 1999,China entered the ranks of aging countries.To deal with the aging problem,combined with China's actual national conditions,the government put forward the "9073" pension plan.China will have more than 190 million elderly people spend their final years at home For example of Beijing,Most of the elderly living in the eighties and nineties multi-storey residence district.The majority of these residential quality is better,but the environment,the public space and the traffic space of the living district have been unable to meet the needs of the elderly.Such as the lack of a large number of residential facilities,the safety of the outdoor environment,poor comfort,no elevator and so on.However,it is not realistic and economic to destruct the original buildings.So based on the needs of elderly and renovating the old residential area is more meaningful.This paper will keep focus on studying the transformation of the old people‘s typical dwelling district in Beijing."Transformation for the elderly" is to help old people complete more self-care projects and reduce the burden of nursing person.Even in the physical decline or suffering from illness or disability,the elderly people still able to living in the original environment.This paper starts from the needs of the elderly and based on the "home care model" to study the problems of existing dwelling district in Beijing is not suitable for the elderly living.And finding the ways to create comfortable and safe environment for the elderly.The first chapter introduces the background of this paper and discusses the characteristics of the aging problem in our country.Furthermore,the second chapter analyzes the physical changes and psychological changes of the elderly.The third chapter puts forward the planning and reform standard of the existing residential area under the old-age pension.The fourth part puts forward how the aging project is established.And then put forward the strategies of transformation.
