Electronic diesel engine common rail system is an efficient way to reduce fuel consumption and emission.The main common rail system suppliers and their products is briefly introduced in this article.Modern engineering methods about diesel engine combustion system parameters matching was analyzed and summarized in this article and based on this,a series of experiment and choice about turbocharger matching and injector nozzle definition was implemented.Through full load and emission results,a turbocharger was chose and through full load and ESC,injector hole number and washer thickness was optimized for the engine.After this process,the diesel engine fuel consumption and emission has been quite well optimized.Vehicle diesel engine C5 legislation has been implemented in whole China.Focused on MD and HD,a research and summary about main C5 solutions was given in this article,and the result is,SCR is a more efficient and achievable way to meet C5 legislation based on C4 solutions——with internal PM control and DOC.Through fuel quantity limitation and main injection timing、rail pressure and boost pressure releasing,the full load calibration has been done.BOSCH EDC17 mathematical model is based on torque structure,the torque structure and air system model was chose and quite thoroughly split and calibrated both of the two models in this article.In the process of emission calibration,an achievable experiment method was set up and the boost pressure、pilot injection timing、pilot injection quantity、main injection timing and rail pressure was well optimized for ESC&ETC.The relationship between combustion parameters and fuel consumption and emission was also researched.Dyno bench test result showed that the diesel engine CO、HC and PM succeeded to meet the C5 legislation and the NOx is under the raw emission design level.The Engine MAP showed that the diesel engine has a good full load result and wide range of low fuel consumption area.The diesel engine successfully meet the need of the manufacturer and the used methods is representative、duplicable and expandable.
