Car panoramic display is an innovative system which can solve visual dead zone problem in driving.Car panoramic display system can also be named as Car Panoramic Assist parking system.The system uses 4 videos captured to match 4 cameras around the vehicle that can produce a panoramic video which consists of the vehicle itself.Drivers will fully access to a status of the vehicle especially the time they come across the dead zone during the parking process.It’s a good way to reduce the probability of accident.Based on the analysis of domestic car panoramic assist parking system,we got the conclusion that most of the systems have deficiencies such as low real-time capability.So,this paper will presents a new car panoramic display system using Linux operating system which can be used to display the status of the vehicle in real-time.Based on the analysis of mainstream DSP processors,Jacinto5-E that is produced by TI company,is used in this project.It’s a processor that is developed for automobile users especially,at the same time the processor has also been adapted in many automotive electronic systems while Jacinto5-E has unique advantages on real-time video operation.The operating system is Linux 2.6.37 and video capture module is OV7960 which is produced by OV(OmniVision)company.The system uses Analog composite video signal to achieve video transportation which also has a HDMI interface and analog video signal interface.All of these applied techniques will give an increase to the expansibility of the system for video display and other areas.First of all,the paper will introduce the development of automobile safety devices and introduce domestic automotive electronic system after that.The key point of this paper is the hardware system and the software system based on Linux kernel and the U-boot.For the hardware,the paper will present a full analysis of the schematic and give a PCB design process at the same time,including the design of the video capture interface,CVBS analog video output interface and the HDMI interface,communication interface with the CAN bus,Ethernet transmission interface.We will give a detailed description of full design process of the 8 layers core board and the 4 layers main board.For software development environment,the U-boot and the Linux kernel is modified and transplanted into the system are introduced.Finally,we test all functions of the whole system to verify the validity and availability.
