Due to the limitation of parking space and the driver's vision, parking accidents are likely to occur. To solve this problem, various auxiliary parking systems are produced, and the current advanced system is panoramic view parking assistance system. The panoramic view parking assistance systems can provide driver with a top-viewed image around the car, which aims to eliminate the driver's vision blind spot and provides the driver with effective visual auxiliary function while parking.In this thesis, we have researched on the algorithm of the panoramic visual parking assistance systems. The work includes: correcting the fish-eye camera distortion with Zhang Zhengyou calibration method; realizing the top-view transformation with DLT algorithm; designing the panorama stitching scheme based on mark point, which realizes the panoramic image stitching; eliminating stitching gap with the algorithm of weighted average fusion; eliminating brightness gap with the algorithm of logarithmic histogram equalization; proposing a lookup table method with weighted average fusion to implement the algorithm on embedded platform in real time.A hardware system based on TMS320DM6437 and TVP5158 is studied in the thesis. We have designed and implemented the driver of four-channel video capture based on DSP/BIOS for the hardware system. The optimization method of system algorithm based on digital signal processor TMS320DM6437 is also studied in the thesis. The algorithm is implemented on the hardware platform. Test results verify the algorithm's effectiveness and real-time implementation.
