Lightlizing automobile technologies prompt greatly the application and development of aluminum alloy.The quality of aluminum alloy plate mainly show: rupture and scratches during the robot roller hemming because of the poor formability.Analysis the feasibility of the aluminum alloy hood is analyzed through FEA and experiment.The purpose of this project is to study the robot roller hemming process of automobile aluminum alloy hood by FEA and experiment based on the finite element theory of thin plate deformation.First,this paper conducted the research from the application of Aluminum Alloy material in automobile body,the robot roller hemming process and classification,the quality defects of hemming and the theory of plate bending forming.Through comparing the hemming process of 6016 aluminum alloy sheet and DC04 steel,it is concluded that the aluminum alloy plate can be used as the automobile body cover,the aluminum alloy forming wave is small,the final forming performance is roll-in,and its hemming pressure is smaller than the steel.The influence of the hemming process parameters(flange angle of the opening panel,radius,pre-hemming pressure)on roll-in was further analyzed through RMS(Response surface methodology),the simulation results show that the influence of radius is the biggest,the pre-hemming pressure is next,flange angle of the opening panel has minimal impact,and the interaction of radius and pre-hemming pressure are significant.The effect of pre-hemming pressure on the roll-in of the hood of the automobile was studied.The finite element analysis of the corner hemming was carried out to verify the feasibility of corner hemming.In addition the measures to improve the quality of corner hemming were proposed.Finally,introduced the requirements for the design and selection of equipment about the robot roller hemming system.The experimental platform was set up to verify the feasibility of 6016 aluminum alloy during the robot roller hemming,and compared and with the simulation results.
