Product Design Research Based On Rice Cake Print Of Minnan

Living in the industrial age,we are surrounded by all kinds of standardized products.Therefore,it is quite difficult for us to find handicrafts in the market which are produced through interpersonal face-to-face communication now.In fact,the recession of handicrafts is inevitable.For one thing,its market is becoming smaller in that new products made by new technology and materials occupy the vast majority of market due to their super quality and competitive price.For the other,there are no enough successors.Fewer people employ themselves on handicrafts because the value of its labor power is lower than the average.As for it,in the view of folk culture heritage,we can manage to usher in a new way so that traditional handicrafts can appear in people ' s daily life with a new form.Rice cake,a kind of common food in Minnan folk diet-culture,is used as the offering for worshiping god and ancestors,praying for good fortune,and greeting festivals.It is a necessity in cultural etiquette,custom and folk religion.Its print,therefore,is filled with the sprite of crafts and high folk crafts value.Rice cake print,rooted in people ' s daily life,presents subtle sculpts,elegant and vivid designs,and complicated types and patterns,mirroring local lives,beliefs and convention at that time.Nowadays,the culture of rice cake print has been pushed out of business:the adoption of rice cake print has been gradually replaced by mass production;foreign pastry has taken the place of traditional pastry by print;the beauty of traditional pastry has been forgotten little by little.Through collation and analysis of rice cake print in south Fujian,this thesis aims to research its using and conservation status,discussing its roots and development,inner beauty of its auspicious patterns,folk culture and etiquette combined with literature search.This thesis,based on in-depth study of Minnan rice cake print,incorporates modern famous design works such as the cooperation between Alessi and Taipei Palace Museum,Aigo USB(cheongsam style),Jia Wei' s design theory emphasized on Zen-like essence,so on and so force,to summarize the essence and principle of the infusion of handicrafts into the modern design and explore the vitality of crafts.By the study of Minnan rice cake print,it is prospected that more design materials of traditional culture are explored and more excellent works with folk-custom essence turn up in the daily life of people.
