Study On Eco Village Construction Techniques Based On Sustainable Development

Traditional villages have witnessed the Chinese nation's great changes brought by time.They're the supporter of the Chinese traditional culture,the foundation of the Chinese civilization and the soul of Chinese nation.The traditional villages are positively influenced by modern technologies,business,production,and lifestyle.However,at the same time;the traditional villages are also numerously destroyed all over our country.For example,many ancient buildings were damaged,the natural environment was ruined seriously,and the loss of traditional cultural legacy has already been a critical issue.Nowadays this is a time of ecology,so we should respect the environment,comply with the nature and live in a harmonious relationship with the natural world.The third Plenary Session of the 18 th CPC Central Committee formulated a series of strategies that keeping the original style and features of traditional villages,to implement the villages' protection and development plan.In this context,“the ecological village” has changed the conservative past-first thought.Instead,the ecological village is a new kind of thought: it's based on the past tradition,but it serves for the future.It is a connection between the past and the future to protect the traditional villages.This new idea not only adjusts to the protective requirement that the construction of towns should be harmonious,dynamic,sustainable and people-first,but also it can be an inevitable trend to maintain and to develop the traditional villages.We consider the Shen'ao Village,which is located in a neighboring town of Hangzhou City,Zhejiang Province,as our object of study,in the perspective of the sustainable development of the traditional village's new ecological civilization.We analyzed the Shen'ao Village explicitly,with diverse measures,such as the Textual Induction,the Dynamic Development Analysis and the Graphic Analysis Method.The principle part of the dissertation is composed of 3 main parts:Part I: The detailed analysis on the current situation of the Shen'ao Village,according to domestic and foreign studies.The studies by foreign researchers mainly include: developing process of foreign ecological villages,the representative researchers who made great contribution to thestudy of ecological villages,the analysis of practical cases in foreign countries,for instance,in Denmark,in Germany and in the USA.For the studies on domestic villages in China,there're the theoretical analysis and the practical case studies.This project of academic research about these ecological villages helps to accumulate experience and to prepare for the next studies.Part II: Analytical studies on the Shen'ao Village.First of all,we generally introduce the background of Shen'ao Village,that's to say,the introduction of natural and cultural environment in Shen'ao Village.For the natural environment,we introduce the geographical features of this village,and the climatic aspect which influence the environment.For the cultural environment,we can see the village's history,patriarchal tradition,folk customs,local solar terms,handicraft art,traditional sports,food,weddings and funerals,filial piety in families,and production.After the introduction,we analyze the overall arrangement of Shen'ao Village.The analysis are focused on the reasons for the site selection,the factors which decide the arrangement of the village,the features of the space arrangement of the village,the geographical distribution of the water channels,including brooks,canals,ditches,ponds and wells.After the overall introduction,we study in details the architecture in Shen'ao Village.There are 4 points:(1)Summary of the architecture in Shen'ao Village.In this part,we analyze the floor plan of the village,the spatial features of buildings,the outside visual design of buildings,and the traditional architectural techniques for the wooden buildings in Shen'ao Village.(2)Analysis on the citizens' private buildings in Shen'ao Village.For example,Gongsi Hall,Youcheng Hall,Shangzhi Hall,and the Dai Maision.(3)Analysis on the public buildings in Shen'ao Village.For example,patriarchal halls,traditional opera stages,drawing rooms,temples,and bridges.(4)Analysis on the architectural decorations.For example,doors,windows,walls,pillars and carving.Part III: Transformation of the potential village by ecological measures suiting local conditions.Firstly,we introduce the modern mature sustainable energy-efficient techniques,the new concept of ecological energy-efficient architecture,the measures to realize the sustainable energy-efficient architecture.There're 2 main kinds of techniques:(1)Passive energy-saving building technologyThe materials: heat storage material,thermal insulation material.The constructional elements: double skin structure,thermal insulation roof,windows and glass.The other techniques: radiation isolation,ventilation and circulation.(2)Active energy-saving building technology.There're hot water,solar energy,artificial illumination,mechanical temperature control system,solar collector,and solar photovoltaic panels.Secondly,we choose the ecological techniques suiting to Shen'ao Village's environmental situation,according to the academic theories in Part II.(3)The priciples to design the new ecological Shen'ao Village.the general ecological graphic design,the ecological landscape design,the use of building material and products,sustainable use of energy,water and sanitation,solid waste management,indoor environment quality,construction administration,building commissioning operation and maintenance.(4)The scan of eco-housing technologies and techniques.Site preparation,building materials and technologies,energy management,renewable energy technologies,water supply and use,waste water treatment and sanitation,solid waste management.According to these mentioned theories and the studies of cases,we can gain the following 3 points of conclusion:I: During the long progress of evaluation,traditional villages have been ruined or lost more or less in China.This damage is not only to the buildings,but also to the traditional custom.These traditional villages are precious but unknown legacy which we should pay attention to discover their values.Then what should we do are reparation,renovation,improvement and renaissance.II: Drawing the concept of ecological villages into the traditional villages,it can help to repair the polluted environment,to strengthen the environmental protection awareness of the village citizens,to bring economic income and new employment chance for the tertiary industry in the old villages.These effects contribute a new developing orientation to the traditional villages' future.III: The continuous developing ecological villages provide a new idea of ecological innovation.For various kinds of traditional villages,we should plan,reform and construct them sustainably and appropriately,in accordance with their distinct characteristics.In this way,traditional villages could obtain their fine ecologicalenvironment during the process of development,and they will be in a benign ecological circulation.This dissertation provides some effective methods of continuous ecological reconstruction for the Shen'ao Village.In the meanwhile,this dissertation also provides some reference documents for the reparation,renovation,improvement and renaissance of traditional villages in China.
