| Nanjing yun brocade is a special type of fabrics.As a symbol of Nanjing folk culture,yun brocade has a long history of 1,600 years,has been appreciated as “ as precious as gold”,and was listed by UNESCO as cultural heritage.As the originated place of Silk Road,textile industry initiated in ancient China seven centuries ago,embodied great wisdom of Chinese people,and plays an irreplaceable role in Chinese traditional culture.Brocade is one of high-quality varieties in fabric industry.Nanjing yun brocade is made up of spectacular materials,with delicate sewing skills,exquisite images and various textures,assembling the essence of Chinese ancient silk-making skills.It’s the peak of traditional fabric art history,as well as the crystallization of ancient fabric culture.During Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasty,yun brocade has been named as royal exclusive tribute,and is complemented as “ Treasure of East” and “Chinese stunner” due to its rich cultural essence and artistic value.As one of the most precious cultural heritage of China,Yun brocade need to be innovated on the base of tradition.Its closer combination with interior design not only advances the development of brocade industry,but also enriches the essence embodied in interior desi gn.This article is divided into seven chapters.Chapter one is mainly about research aims and meanings;chapter two focuses on the origin,history and current situation of Nanjin yun brocade,adding emphasis to its category and relative features,setting a starting point for the practical application in interior design;chapter three turns to the development trend of interior design and soft design;chapter four put emphasis on the application value of Nanjing yun brocade in interior design;chapter five gives an different standpoint from independent design cases,probing into practical application methods and principles of yun brocade art in interior design;in the last chapter,the author made a conclusion on the application of yun brocade art in interior design,which not only reflects the diversification of interior design,but also shows a improvement of cultural essence and the inheritance and development of Nanjing yun brocade art. |
