The Research Of Post Occupancy Evaluation On The Children's Playground In Chengdu Comprehensive Park

The children's outdoor activity space has been severely compressed with the development of economy and society in our country and the accelerated urbanization process.The urban parks provides the most important place for children's outdoor activities as an indispensable public space in modern city.The planning and design of the site should base on the user's need according to the special nature of the children's activity space.Chengdu is an important city of political, economic and cultural development in the the western region and get more and more concern on urban park construction and use for urban people and tourists.This paper aims to summarizes the situation of children needs for urban parks through study on Post Occupancy Evaluation(POE) in Chengdu urban parks.The paper is based on Post Occupancy Evaluation(POE) theory and take Chengdu parks for children activity space as research focus.The research objects were finally selected through field investigation inculding people's Park,cultural park, Baihua Tan Park, Xinhua Park.The use situation studied in depth is through field research in depth. The paper studied the the environmental behavior of the sites including the use of the crowd, the situation of space and terrain, the situation of public facilities, recreational facilities, plant landscape. Acoording to the "WSR" methodology including "physical-truth people",the paper established a set of evaluation factors andmade a lot of data.Then the results of the research was analyzed by AHP analytic hierarchy process and the POE qualitative and quantitative analysis.The sites have some problems,inculding lack of venues and the uneven distribution,single type of activity in sites most of which is large recreation equipment,repetitive facilities without characteristics,not clear space division,not good public service facilities and not rich plant species.Based on the results, the suggestions is made including overall planning with convenient children activity yard,enrich types of activity to stimulate children's potential,rationalized space layout and improved site services from the user's point of view and so on to provide some help for the future development of children's activity space planning.
