As the social development and the economy improvement, our country is entering into the aging society. Therefore, with great potential, the future of medical industry for the elderly is broad. Nowadays, the public is gradually enhancing health awareness and self health care, so the medical products are not merely used as the professional equipment any longer, but also the household products in more families. The application of household medical products bring about a lot of benefits for the elderly. Those products not only help them master their health condition timely, and even prevent and cure general diseases effectively. Compared with the examinations and treatments in hospitals, the household medical care can reduce the psychological burden of the elderly; moreover, it can save the medical expenses; besides, the household medical products are easily to be used and operated, combining the prevention with cure. Thus, they are applied into health protection of the elderly for a long time. They break the limitations of the hospital care and the users are no longer the traditional doctors and nurses. As a result, the patients and their relatives are get involved in the health caring, which is useful for improving their health awareness and increasing their health knowledge. Besides, as the development of high-tech and the change of people's living habits, the machine's replacement of human labor will gradually become the mainstream of social development. The field of artificial intelligence will become the main tendency in future development. The Human Universal Load Carrier is such kind of product, a kind of mechanic external power- assisted skeleton, an imitative design of characteristics of body structure. This product has great research value and application value in the medical field. The design of medical product for the elderly, Human Universal Load Carrier, is the focus of this thesis. This product is the combination of artificial intelligence with medical product, a historical innovation, moreover, the requirements of development of our times.The research is given under such background. Firstly, in terms of design for human, the thesis introduces the concept of Human Universal Load Carrier, its research background and practical value. Secondly, from the perspective of the users, the thesis analyzes the condition, the characteristics, the lifestyle and demand of the elderly, explores the research methods of the medical product design for the elderly. Thus, the concept of medical products for the elderly based on Human Universal Load Carrier has been inspired. On basis of theories of “user experience”, “emotion” and “humanity”, the research methods of observation, questionnaire, case study and practice and communication have been used in exploring and analyzing the medical product design, so the design principles and development tendency are summarized. Lastly, taking the case of exoskeleton rehabilitation mechanical arms situation interaction systems design, the design principles, the development tendency and design concepts have been examined in the practical design.
