With the rapid development of social economy and resources abuse, global energy crisis and environment pollution are increasingly prominent. So the concept of "sustainable development" is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people gradually. In this context, people pay more attention to energy saving building technology. Under the advancement of information technology, the emergence and development of BIM building information brings new opportunity for ecological architecture design. Since the implementation of the college expansion policy,the development of higher education has welcomed the opportunity, and various universities are amplified and transform campus building in China. College canteen building is one of the important types of the school buildings, which also gets a lot of construction. Due to the rapid construction, and short design cycle, energy saving problems of the college canteen buildings are increasingly prominent, which hinders the construction of the sustainable development in colleges and universities.Based on the above background, the author tries to present more advanced BIM technology as a supplementary means, and takes Chongqing as a main example to study the suitable strategy for the college canteen architectural features of building energy efficiency design. First of all, the thesis sums up the characteristics and development of the dining room in colleges and universities, and analyses its difference and similarities with other dining room type. Secondly, the author investigates the canteen buildings of universities and colleges in Chongqing key area, through field survey, literature search, and questionnaire survey methods. Besides, the author classifies, analyze and summarize the university dining hall of Chongqing region from three levels of the overall design, construction design, construction detail. Afterwards, this article proposes the issues corresponding area in Chongqing university canteen building in energy conservation. The author analyzes some of the main factors of the construction scheme design stage affecting the energy saving. Aiming at the main contradiction of these factors, based on the research of the characteristics and advantages of BIM technology analysis, it is concluded that BIM technology is applicable to solve the canteen building energy-saving problem of scheme design stage. The author expands the further study on BIM technology and its application in building energy efficiency design of further research, and concludes the BIM technology in building energy efficiency design, the main research content.According to previous research analysis summary college canteen building in energy conservation issues, this thesis is based on the natural environment of Chongqing to research the Chongqing region problems existing in the dining room in the building energy efficiency design of university, by means of study the application of BIM technology in building energy efficiency design. Firstly, the author analyses the meteorological data of Chongqing, and concludes that the direction is suitable for passive strategy in Chongqing. Secondly, the author puts forward the design strategy that is helpful with energy saving from the overall planning and design of towards planning and site selection, building orientation, landscape design from three aspects: study the benefit at the dining room of building energy efficiency design strategy;Thirdly, the author proposes the energy saving strategy from points of view including the single building design, function space layout, construction monomer atrium; Finally, from the canteen shading of the detail design of architectural design, envelope design, and window-opening designs, the article puts forward the design strategies which is suitable for the kitchen details. But the passive design strategy about traditional experience and theory is not stated in this article.In the end of the paper, with the help of the BIM technology, the author takes one canteen building design, which the author has participated during the period of internship, of a college in Chongqing as an example. And this essay verifies the passive energy conservation design strategies of college canteens. At the same time, in the conclusion part, conclusion on the research of the thesis is summarized, and the deficiency of the thesis and further research in the future are put forward.
