Nowadays, with the rapid growth of the number of vehicles, the development of parking spaces cannot meet the needs of people. It is reflected in not only the shortage of parking space, but also the low level of efficiency and intelligence of the parking management. Meanwhile, the situation that proprietary parking spaces are occupied also appears now and again. Although the existing intelligent parking locks may be used to solve problems encountered by individual car owners, the problem of insufficient endurance cannot be solved, and it is inconvenient for unified management. Therefore, this paper has developed RFID-based smart parking management system to solve the problems described above.Firstly, this paper introduces the research status of parking management systems and vehicle identification. One of the design goals is that the battery life must be no less than 1 year under normal conditions. Then, the overall designs of parking management system have been completed, including the application of RFID technology in vehicle identification, determination of RFID operation frequency and parking detection technology, the structure designs of the parking lock, etc. After that, the hardware circuit designs and software designs of various parts of the system are introduced in detail. The former part covers peripheral circuit design based on nRF24LE1, antenna design of the electronic tag, DC motor control circuit design, parking spaces detection based on geomagnetic sensor, etc. The latter part includes RFID anti-collision algorithm, dynamic parking allocation algorithm, parking detection algorithm, etc. Finally, the parking management system has been tested actually. On the basis of experimental data, the battery life of parking lock and electronic tag is calculated. The results show that the system design meets the expectations and the actual requirements.
