The Study Of Design Strategies Of Small Buildings

In recent years, the "small" buildings has gradually been favored by architects and designers. There is more and more discussion about the "small" buildings. This research discusses the characteristics, design methods and strategies of "small" buildings, which is different from the characteristics of large buildings.Because "small" buildings are easy to be controlled and has the characteristics of experimental. This research take experimental "small" buildings, which have innovation in space, structure, construction and materials, as the research object. Coming out with the general design strategy of the "small" buildings through the analysis and investigation of a large number of cases.The first chapter starts from existing "small" architectural design practice and discusses current status of the development of "small" buildings at home and abroad. In addition to the project design practice of architects, research on "small" buildings and design practice of domestic and foreign universities is also included. Then it discusses the characteristics of the "small" buildings, which is different from the large building, that is, personalization, humanization and boundary blurring.The second chapter to the fifth chapter starts from design conception, after reading, investigating and analyzing the operation of a large number of cases, divided the cases into four parts according to the different design objectives:limitation, transformation, materials and construction. Each part separately carries on the classification to elaborate. Each classification selects several typical cases, then carries on the research analysis and the contrast operation from four aspects:the space, the structure, the construction and the materials. These four chapters pave the way for the next chapter, which concludes the specific operational strategy of "small" buildings.The sixth chapter as the summary and sublimation of the second chapter to the fifth chapter, puts forward "small" buildings design strategy and then elaborates specifically, which is supported by relevant cases involved in the previous chapters. This chapter is divided into two parts:space, structure strategy and materials, construction strategy.
