It is well known that the development of electric vehicles and the comprehensive transformation of transportation are important measures for the construction for sustainable utilization of energy strategy and ecological civilization, especially when facing fossil energy shortage and environmental pollution. Now the public pay more attention to the promotion of driving micro-electric vehicles instead of fuel vehicles or using it co-operates with urban public transport system. The advantages of micro-electric vehicles such as simple operation or parking convenience are more attractive to consumers. However, how can micro-electric vehicles help alleviate the urban traffic problems and improve the travel situation of urban residents? Based on iNPD (integrated New Product Development) theory, this paper discusses the product opportunity of micro-electric vehicles which will be used by urban residents. Furthermore, the survey about travel situation of urban residents and related researches about micro-electric vehicles will also be introduced in this paper.Nothing else has complex structure and fierce competition than cars', car industries have provided the most versatile and exciting user-centered iNPD case resources. Foreign car companies have already developed a set of processes to develop cars with iNPD methodology, such as the ford F-150 series. However, in China, less attention has been paid on iNPD methodology, and there are also many problems in the traditional development model of cars in China. The iNPD methodology will be used as structure foundation in this article, therefore, the first stage in this paper will analyze the product opportunities of electric cars which based on SET factors analysis. What's more, according to the first stage's analysis, the design positioning of micro-electric vehicles will be set in the second stage which based on scenario analysis. Last but not least, the third stage will developed many design concepts of micro-electric vehicles according to preliminary researches. In conclusion, as the framework of this paper, iNPD methodology will be utilized throughout the paper alone with many supporting literature analysis. The main conclusion of this paper is with the development of society?economy and technology, the micro-electric vehicles show that they are very suitable as transportation vehicles as urban residents' daily choices.
