during coal-fired boiler start-up process, because of desulphurization bypass cancel, amounts of dust can be brought into desulfurization slurry, and adherent dust of heavy metal may cause desulfurization serous heavy metal pollution and serous poisoning and effect normal operation of gas desulfurization system. With the construction of wet electrostatic precipitator, large amounts of water vapour and tiny dust particles gathering from smoke will come back to the desulfurization water cycle system and cause effects for normal operation of gas desulfurization system. This paper take a experimental study on desulfurization serous heavy metal content during one 300MW coal-fired boiler start-up process. Focuses on one 600MW machine sets, experimental have been done to study the desulfurization gypsum quality effects when before and after add wet electrostatic precipitator.Making use of inductively coupled plasma source mass spectrometer and multiperiod and wide interval sampling method to test and analyze a 300MW machine set serum content change of heavy metals during start up process. The result shows that with the increase of unit load, Cr, Hg and Cd’s concentration curve within desulfurized grout shows a rising trend in the whole process; its growth is very slow in the earlt esage and the rapid growth is very high in the later stage; Pb and As’s concentration curve shows volatility, it showed little change in the early stage and big changes in later stage.Taking advantage of ICP-MS, ion chromatograph, particle size analyzer, electron microscopy to test and analyze a 600MW machine set’s desulfurization slurry composition and the desulfurization gypsum quality before and after add wet electrostatic precipitator. The result shows that adding wet electrostatic precipitator will not cause obvious effects for normal operation of the desulfurization system; desulfurization gypsum’s moisture content overflow After add wet electrostatic precipitator is mainly because inadequate gypsum oxidation.
