| Suspension kinematics and compliance,automotive aerodynamics and tire characteristics,are three main factors to the vehicle performance and dynamics.Reach on automotive dynamics and tire characteristics are not yet mature to totally conduct an automobile project development.Adjusting and optimizing suspension kinematics and compliance are the mainly ways to promote vehicle performance and dynamics.The study of the suspension K&C characteristics and its influence for vehicle driving performance would include the theory research part,engineering application part and test verification section.The study of suspension kinematics and compliance needs dynamic analysis and calculation,which would make up the theory research part.The problems of first tuning of a prototype vehicle,its front and rear suspension model building,the analysis and optimization of it,all of that consist the engineering application part.Building the dynamic analysis assembly of the prototype vehicle and we carry on several tests on the prototype vehicle,referring to National Standard Test Method on Handling and Stability,which are belong to test verification section.In a word,the main reach work of this article mainly divided in three parts.At the beginning,this article is focus on introducing the theory of suspension kinematics and compliance.At the same time,we set forth the relationship between vehicle performance and suspension kinematics and compliance.Suspension kinematics and compliance are mainly referring to characteristics of suspension movement,which is short for K,and suspension compliance,which is short for C.Suspension kinematics is mainly focus on suspension characteristics of vertical movement,roll movement and steering movement.While,suspension compliance is mainly focus on suspension characteristics as longitudinal force,lateral force and aligning torque that acting on a vehicle.Secondly,with the help of a program,analysis and matching of a MPV,we build the front and rear suspension of a prototype vehicle.based on the problems of tuning of the first prototype vehicle,which are that body roll angle is a little bit big,the under steer characteristics of it is also too big and longitudinal impact comfort is poor,we have a simulation analysis on the vehicle suspension kinematics and compliance to find the real causes.By analysis the importance of relevant factors,which influence vehicle performance,we can find the notable factors that affect vehicle suspension kinematics and compliance.After that,we optimize relevant suspension characteristics,by adjusting the notable factors,to make the suspension kinematics and compliance in a reasonable range.In the end,we build the prototype vehicle assembly.Refer to National Standard Test Method on Handling and Stability,we carry on several tests on the prototype vehicle,including S curve driving stability test,straight line braking and acceleration test,steady state cornering test,sine sweep test and step steer test.Performing those tests is to verify the optimization in the part of suspension kinematics and compliance is correct or not.It can provide reference values for future automobile developing and tuning program. |
