A multi-body simulation approximate model of C-vehicle using ADAMS software is established, the front suspension kinematics and the vehicle dynamics are studied respectively. The main content researched in this paper is followed as below:Firstly,briefly introduce the vehicle dynamics computer simulation model development process, vehicle handling stability research and evaluation. Simply depict the research content of the multi-body system dynamics , the application of software ADAMS in vehicle dynamics and the parameter preparation used in digital model.Secondly,the front suspension kinematics parametric model is established , and the front wheel alignment kinematics characteristics is analyzed with the wheel vertical movement and validate the model veracity. The dual cross bar independent suspension is a kind of complex four-link machine, and the selection of the rational parametric is an important step in designing the dual arm suspension, so this method can be used in vehicle products development.Thirdly, the C vehicle multi-body dynamics model is established, fully considered the absorber, torsion bar, steering linkage and the stabilizer for the dual-bar independent suspension and the contact between the main leaf spring and the assistant leaf spring for the rear leaf spring suspension based on the beam principle and the force element. And then put forward a new method which is called the equivalent medium layer for establishing the leaf spring model effectively. This model can be used in the vehicle ride-ability research.Finally, many vehicle handling stability simulating test have been made according to the nation standard ,and some simulation curve is availability for the vehicle handling stability evaluation.Because of the restriction on the time and the test condition, many problem have not been discussed, for example, the steering linkage stiffness and the dampness are not considered for the vehicle handling stability and the corresponding vehicle test have not been done for validating the simulation, etc.
