Fuel plays an important position in the modern thermal power enterprise, and the fuel management is also an important part of the enterprise management. In order to reduce the influence of human factors on the fuel management, and avoid the enterprise risk effectively, the information technology of computer is applied to manage the fuel business process and to analysis the fuel data. Then, the fuel management level of the enterprises can be improved effectively. The paper uses the modern industrial engineering theory as the basis, and combines the information management theory. The W thermal power company is taken as the background, and the overall process management of the thermal power plant, including the fuel procurement, the supplier management, the incoming coal acceptance, the incoming coal unloading and storage, the fuel statistics accounting, and the fuel cost management are deeply analyzed. The fuel management information system is established through building the large data center, and the digital reengineering of the fuel management process in the power plant could be realized. Then, the optimization of coal purchase dispatching, the refinement of supplier management and the automation of evaluation, the automatic acquisition of the data about the quantity and quality of the incoming coal, and the integration function of fuel business and financial management could be achieved. It will greatly reduce the influence of human factors on the fuel management, and improve the work efficiency of the business staffs. The fuel procurement cost of the enterprises will be reduced, and the level of the fuel management and the benefit of the enterprises will be further enhanced.
