With the development of the energy business management, the conventional meter method by people takes more money and time, and it can not satisfy the requirement of smat grid. While advanced computer and communication technology are adopted by the auto meter reading system to finish the metering work. The auto meter reading system is convenient and efficient. For the remote meter system, power line carrier holds the advantage that it don't need to laying line, low-cost and well developed, which lead it to be the research hot spot.But because of the characteristics of the carrier communication channel for low-voltage power line, there are some problems and deficiencies.Signals are susceptible to interference which will lead to weaken or deformation of the signal. And consequently the data metered is unstable and of a low performance on real-time. For the sake of the performance of meter reading system on low-voltage power line carrier and the reduction of the cost, optimization engineering design should be taken into consideration.Firstly, the structure of the remote meter reading system on low-voltage power line carrier was optimized. The key component of it including PC system, concentrator, carrier was analyzed and designed. And the type of the special modem chip for the power line carrier was choose. Additionally, The working principle of it is given.Then, the acquisition terminal hardware scheme was designed and the controller type was selected. Moreover, the acquisition terminal hardware diagram and relative software flow chart of the whole system was designed. As the key part of the structure optimization, the optimization principle of the acquisition terminal is that multiple watt-hour meters is collected by one acquisition terminal.Finally, a new routing algorithm,which can be applied in the meter reading system on low-voltage power line carrier, is presented. When concentrator give out a signal for relay topology information to one acquisition terminal, other concentrators give out signals to their sub-concentrators, and the relay topology information of them was updated. The convergence of this algorithm was proved. And compared to the former algorithm, it can acquire the relay topology table faster, And it has higher reliability and is less affected by line communication success rate.
