EPC as a major contracting mode, it is widely applied in the fields of power and chemical industries. In recent years, it is also used in large-scale projects such as railway, hydropower, wind power, solar and integrated power storage. Because the project features large scale, long construction duration and complex technique, and EPC throughouts the project implementation, so the Contractor has to bear most risks of project. Power engineering EPC Contractors gain the potential of profit and development with their design advantages. Meanwhile, they would bear more and larger risks in project implementation. Therefore, it is particularly important to how to conduct a scientific and rational project risk identification and analysis, and to deal with such risks. EPC contractor needed to study and solve for power engineering design institute converting.The paper, combining the characteristics and advantages of EPC contractor based on power engineering design, analyses important index and risk identifications of designing during different stages of implementations, set up an effective analysis framework and decision-making model by using risk assessment method and combining with subjective and objective factors; confirms index of design risk assessment and makes evaluation on risk decision. By analyzing an example in EPC project, it proves the effectiveness and usefulness of this method. It also provides critical controlling task for the basis of decision-making and risk prevention for EPC contractor based on power engineering design institute.
