PXI bus equipment has the characteristics of integration, generalization and virtualization, and it is widely used in the fields of the testing instruments and automatic testing. Development of equipment based on PXI bus technology is an important research direction of military maintenance reform project. Automatic testing and application technology of the air navigation equipment are studied in this paper,and a automatic testing platform based on PXI bus is designed,which can be used to upgrade the testing technology of airport navigation equipment and solve the problems of the disunity testing model and the low degree of automation.A general designation of the testing platform is put forward because of low integration level and manual testing of airport navigation equipment,whch combines with the requirements of military equipment support, technical requirements, PXI bus and Lab VIEW. The PXI standard integrated chassis is used, which is composed of a number of general standard function modules to complete data acquisition, storage, analysis and processing functions and human computer interaction. The desktop testing equipments are controled by the GPIB which acquires the parameters of the RF signal.A special interface adapter is designed in view of the interface of the sending and receiving signal of the navigation radar,which can pretect the effective acquisition of the signal. Lab VIEW graphical development environment is used for writing drivers for GPIB, PXI and JV31270 by the system software. An algorithm of spectrum of the radio frequency based on the continuous Zoom FFT and an algorithm of the modulation based on the AM are designed. The testing and controling program of the frequency, power, voltage and modulation depth and the man-machine interface are written combining the characteristics of automatic testing and intelligent virtual instrument.The testing performance and index of the system are verified by the testing and calibration of the standard signal. The test results show that the system performance meets the requirements of the automatic testing.
