The historical district is the embodiment of the traditional culture and the evolution of a city's testimony. Nanning city has a long history, has a rich historical and cultural heritage, but following the high-speed development of city, many heritage buildings were destroyed. The historical district is destroyed seriously.So it is extremely urgent to study and utilize the Nanning City's historical protection.Firstly, this thesis researches the theory and method of the historical district protection in detail, then researches and analysis the current situation and historical situation of Nanning city historical district's material culture and non-material culture and find some problems:historic district protection consciousness is poor, historical building is of poor quality, city lacks in dynamism and represent low quality living. The historic district is divided into the construction of the core protection area, control area, environmental coordination area and make out different countermeasure according to their characters.1. the core protection area should have "complete spatial structure", " perfect traditional style", "cohesive landscape"?2. the construction control area should follow the principle "continuation style, gradual transition"?3. the environmental coordination area should follow the principle "harmonious whole, All blend into one harmonious whole."?Then the paper makes detailed analysis from following aspects:the texture of historic district, buildings, units of cultural relics and intangible cultural.The paper study the use of historic district by means of studying constructing landscape nodes, the commercial landscape axis, and proposed suggestions respectively on historical building's reutilizing.1.
