With the development of society, the power supply has become the basic requirement of the power system. In recent years, the China State Grid Corp to improve the reliability of the system, improve the voltage level, reduce the line and equipment loss. With the gradual promotion of equipment state maintenance, changing the past regardless of equipment condition, formulated in accordance with the voltage level and age of the planned maintenance outage "one size fits all" model, based on to the safety of equipment, reliable operation, rather than simple stressed field test, and at the same time, the equipment function test of mechanical operation, inspection, operation experience into a very important position, adopt the appropriate to relax the outage of the routine test (actively and steadily, leeway, strengthen charged detection methods.According to the status of maintenance procedures, to strengthen the electric detection, reduce equipment failure, improve the health status of the equipment. In the production process, ultrasonic detection for GIS equipment, for lightning arrester leakage current detection and for transformer oil chromatographic detection and so on. These methods can effectively discover the potential risks of the equipment, and analyze whether the equipment can continue to run normally, so as to provide guarantee for the development of power failure plan and maintenance of power grid security and stability.GIS partial discharge is a kind of pulse discharge, according to the phenomenon of the light, sound, vibration and so on. It is commonly used in the detection of high frequency and ultrasonic. Two detection methods for different types of fault in the presence of different sensitivity, will be a great degree of detection of the actual operating conditions of the device. Oil chromatographic analysis technology after years of development has entered a mature stage, characteristic gas method, three ratio method to judge the method can very good judgment condition and fault types of transformers, to make the right judgments.In this paper, the types, characteristics and detection methods of partial discharge of electrical apparatus are studied. Bureau of the ultrasonic of the combined electrical equipment discharge detection process are analyzed in detail, and expounded the process of sampling and test for transformer oil chromatogram of and characteristics of gas to produce various types of fault analysis, according to the actual case, in-depth analysis of the detection principle, process and result, provide a basis to further promote the live detection.
