With the market competition enhancement and the improvement of construction process quality requirements,shipbuilding mode in our country is undergoing transformation in recent years.In ship assembly process,it will improve the practical problems,such as long production cycle,high engineering rework rate and the high construction cost.In the transformation of shipbuilding production mode,virtual reality technology application in ship production assembly process not only can effectively solve the above problems,but also provides a useful method for the transition of ship production building mode.This paper mainly contains the following contents: based on the piping system of a12000 DWT bulk carrier power cabin as the prototype,analyses the structure,layout and assembly process.Piping system of ship power cabin is established three-dimensional entity models in 3Ds Max,and to increase the reality through the optimization and rendering of the model.Using Unity 3D virtual simulation platform and the scripts of control program can implement assembly process simulation and digital illustration.Using roaming function can show the structure of single piping system,multy piping system,between piping system and main equipment.It can be effectively combined with three-dimensional entity models and mathematical models and implement the function of interactive control system.Then the system release different operating platform on PC and mobile according to different requirements.The virtual system in this paper has stronger practicability and certain innovation.It has guiding significance to the actual assembly work for piping system of power cabin,and has the certain model function for studying of other ship system assembly.It can get the the purpose,of shortening the period of ship production assembly,reducing engineering rework amount and construction cost.At the same time,this system can be used for production practice and training teaching,also has the positive significance on virtual manufacturing development of shipping industry.
