Sluices are common hydraulic structures in plain area, according to case study, cracks are prone to apper at the sluice pier. The main causes of sluice cracks are temperature difference between inside and outside of the pier, dry shrinkage of concrete, autogenous volume deformation and external constraints, besides, these cause can also be affected by a series of other factors. This problem has haunted engineers for a long time, and has not been well solved.Structural health monitoring system's assessment of structure health status is a new trend. It combines the technologies of modern sensor, network communication, signal processing and analysis, data management, computer vision, knowledge mining, predictions, structure analysis and decision theory, and so on, which expand the intension of strcture monitoring and develop the reliability of predictive evaluation.Aimed at the cracks exist in a project, taken sudden change in temperature(temperature rise caused by sunshine in summer and temperature drop caused by cold wave in winter) and soil-pile-structure interaction these two negative factors into consideration, this article simulated the sluice pier's force situation and cracks' s developing process under two single negative factors and coupled factors by using ABAQUS. The numerical simulation results is similar with the real cracks that appear in the sluice pier. For the purpose of knowing the crcaks' activity rule and different monitering purposes, designed the health monitoring system of cracks in the sluice.By installing joint meters on the cracks and monitoring the changes of cracks, studied the moving law of cracks.Combining the monitoring data of settlement observation and soil pressure, this paper made a composite analysis of crack reasons. Besides, aimed at recovering the the structural integrity of sluice, designed two different reinforcement measure and compared the force situation of sluice pier,grout and steel plates under different working conditions by using ABAQUS.
