Historic district entrance has abundant city function,for its great importance in node space of city and transition between city space and district inner space.Since it's specialty in location and function, it contains not only separation but also connection.With the fast development of this society,the integration of urban center area made unsatisfactory with function and scale in some historic district entrance space.In the process of protecting old historic city,people usually only focusing on the center of the conservation area and ignore the edge of the entrance space,which brings differences between district image and new city zone.Therefore,it brings well-reasoned that the focusing on how to use the historic district entrance space well in order to makes the space play a better role.The study analysis the theory of the historic district entrance space in the city in terms of “city”“district”“architecture”and “people ”respective.Start from human's demand, the study puts forward the requirement of the entrance space such as passing,recognition and comfortable. Through combining theory analysis with characteristics of demanding,this article did empirical analysis and contrary evaluation from the perspective of entrance space form, so as to referring properThis paper illustrates as follows:First come up with questions,define relevant concepts and research range,combined related theory study with on the spot investigation by describing constitute elements of historic district entrance space and then make conclusion about the existing problems of that space.Then analysis questions and do multiple research from four levels including space form,walking flow orientation,space size and environmental construction on the basis of theory exploring and functional requirement. Next,doing empirical contrast and analysis.This research chose nine exits which represents different citys,years and styles as invest objects.Doing analysis from those four aspects and evaluating the historic district entrance through contrast research.Finally, solve the problems through theory research and empirical contrast.At last,explains from four levels and make great efforts on completion of theory knowledge, objectively of empirical research and human's demands the come up with proper gender with analysis level,and supplyed with theoretical guide and objective gists for protection and renewing in other city and also,attempts to protect the historic district well and get double wins between protection and development.
