The Study Of Reusing Strategies For The Mining Wasteland

Mining wasteland is the witness of the whole process that the urban industry develops from rise to decline, and it is a true reflection of the people’s life and production in the special period. It is a special kind of cultural carrier. These wastelands around cities get extensive attentions because of the potential security problems and the damage to the ecological environment. Meanwhile, the lands are always with ascendant geographical conditions so that they have both certain cultural value and economic value. At present, most discarded land in mining area faces the challenges if we just consider from the facet of ecology, traditional transformation ways and the single pattern. So, the adjustment and optimum of industrial structure in mining industry has been the most important problem in the city development. How to make full use of site characteristics of mining wasteland to meet city demands and promote economic development is the most important part in the repairing and updating.This paper starts from the related concepts and theories of recovering the existing waste land and summarizes the way of the ecological restoration and reconstruction through different angels in different countries’ policies and reuse mode with some excellent cases in China and abroad. What’s more, we try to analyze the development of JiXian from multilevel, mutiangle and multidisciplinary analysis, and then, pose the problems and development thought about the city transformation according to the economic transition based on the quarry’s transformation project in JiXian. Besides, it will be helpful with the rational use of location and resource combined with the local industry and ecological environment in discussing the update strategy about the wasteland and providing ideas and methods for this kind of problems.
