The Research On The Effect Of The Harmonics On The Metering Performance Of Energy Meter

A large number of power electronic devices and nonlinear load in power system,mixed with more and more harmonics and inter harmonics,the harmonic problem of power system is becoming more and more serious.Harmonics will lead to a decline in power quality,which makes the electrical equipment and power grid will be affected to a certain extent.As the power supply departments and users of higher power quality concerns and requirements and accurate harmonic analysis has become an important aspect of power quality studies.This paper carried out the analysis and research on the impact of energy metering error of harmonic.Accroding to the fundamental principle of the electronic energy meter,the theoretical mode of the electronic energy meter is formulated.The mechanism of the effect of the harmonics on the electronic meter is analyzed in principle.The frequency characteristic test was conduct for the typical meter.Based on the laboratory test and field test of the two transformer substations for electrified railways in Handan city,the test result show that the tradition metering will make the lose of economy under the harmonics existing.Finally,in some serious harmonic pollution area,in order to measure the electrical energy accurately and rationally,the electrical energy metering should adopt the separate metering method for the electric energy with and without harmonics.
