This paper aims at developing a system to evaluate the power supply system harmonics effect on energy measurement. Firstly, we analyzed the effect of the classic harmonic sources on the power quality by simulation of arc furnace using Matlab; secondly, by analyzing the structure and principle of induction watt-hour meter, this paper proposed a non-linear improved mathematic model to study its electrical energy measurement error, and developed a Matlab simulation model of induction watt-hour meter. Through calculating and simulation analysis, we studied roundly and thoroughly the effect factors and effect degree of the meters under the harmonic existence; thirdly, we improved optimized design of the passive filter, providing the basis for evaluation system. Based on above study, an system is established to evaluate the power supply system harmonics effect on energy measurement. By collecting the transient signal of three-phase voltage and current at one node in power supply system, this paper analyzed the harmonics condition,and presented a design of restrain harmonics,and then quantitatively evaluated the harmonics effect on energy measurement whether filter exist or not. At last, the evaluation apparatus is briefly introduced.
