The iron-core reactor is important power equipment in power system. It plays an important role for the safe operation of power grid. With the improvement of the power grid and the increase capacity and size of the iron-core reactor, the iron-core reactor noise and temperature problems begin to emerge.The iron-core reactor noise problem is especially serious. Therefore, the research on vibration and noise of the iron-core reactor has important engineering significance.Taking the iron-core reactor for the research object, the vibration and noise of the iron-core reactor were analyzed by the finite element software COMSOL.The simulation process which includes the geometry model, material parameters and boundary conditions, the grid subdivision and solution methods were analyzed. And on this basis, the iron-core reactor vibration noise under normal operation, different working current, different constraints condition and different loading force conditions were studied. The iron-core reactor magnetic flux density distribution, vibration displacement distribution and the distribution of sound pressure level were analyzed. At the same time, the iron-core natural frequencies and mode shapes were obtained by the modal analysis.The simulation results show that: with the magnetic flux density increasing the vibration displacement and sound pressure level increase; with the working current increasing the vibration displacement and sound pressure level increase;the constraint condition influenced the size of the vibration noise and the direction of propagation of the vibration noise. The simulation results also show that the natural frequency of the iron-core will reduce with the elastic modulusdecreasing. In addition, the noise measurement equipment was applied to obtain the noise data. It was demonstrated that the measured data is consistent with the simulation results. The multi-physics coupling method can be used to the vibration noise of the iron-core reactor.
