By the end of 2013,the urban population in China has reached 53.75% of total. Besides in 2020 the proportion of China’s urbanization rate is expected to exceed 60%. Along with the rapid development of urbanization, energy consumption and environmental quality of city are under huge challenge. At present, the proportion of the building energy consumption has increased to 31.2% of the total energy consumption society.The energy consumption of air-conditioning accounts for up to 20 ~ 30% in residential construction and 50 ~ 60% in public buildings respectively. The green architecture as a good approach of the sustainable development by saving resources and energy as well as protecting the environment has achieved leap-forward development and become the development direction of the current construction since 2008. However,because the green building in China started late,there are many problems in different areas of green technology application and the incremental costs are lack of unified calculation method and standard,which result in the public and developers have some wrong understanding of green building,such as,green building cost is high and huge. As a result,the healthy development of green architecture in our country has been affected greatly. In the background,this paper will analyze the energy-saving potential and the economy of the green residential building.By data collecting and sorting for 259 green residential dwellings in 34 residential districts in Hubei area, this paper has objectives as follows:(1) by generalization and summarization of the green residential construction typical plane form in hubei region it can be as the model for later calculation and verification;(2) by simulating typical buildings in summer and transition seasons to get the indoor velocity distribution and the air age,besides,making use of the air age as the ventilation effect evaluation index to get the energy saving for natural ventilation building which makes use of energy consumption simulation software;(3) by quantitative analyzing of these four plane form natural lighting quality and energy saving in the CIE overcast,sunny and cloudy all day,and in four kinds of typical plane form in the vernal equinox,summer solstice,autumnal equinox,winter solstice,to get the area ratio of satisfying the requirement of building lighting design standard;(4) quantitatively analyzing the energy saving of solar hot water system in the typical architecture;(5) from the perspective of the economic cost-benefit,analyzing and evaluating the energy saving of the green energy-saving technology,on the base of analysis of the natural ventilation, natural lighting and solar energy hot water.The research results show that using passive technology and solar hot water system has great energy-saving potential in the green residential dwellings,in spite of this, the economic effect is obvious and this project is of great significance for our country’s construction energy conservation and emissions reduction.
