With the accelerating urbanization in China, the tower cranes have been more and more widely applied in construction sites on account of the features such as high tower body, heavy lifting weight and wide operating range, etc. While in most cases, large-scale construction sites require multiple tower cranes to operate simultaneously, which will inevitably cause overlapping in operation area. In case of any improper operation, it will easily cause a series of accidents of tower cranes. Therefore, there is very important and practical significance in the study of anti-collision system for group of tower cranes.This thesis has carried on mathematical modeling of tower cranes and obstacles, as well as classified discussion of several anti-collision forms of tower cranes. Improvement has been made on the basis of conventional anti-collision algorithm and an intelligent avoidance algorithm through preferential path has been brought forward. Monitoring system of each tower crane can receive parameter information from other tower cranes,such as position coordinates, length of forearm, angle and speed of rotation, etc. Through algorithm processing and output of control decision, any collision between the tower cranes operating at the overlapping area can be avoided in a reasonable way.In order to realize real-time interaction of information among tower cranes, the system adopts Wimi-net as a wireless solution. This thesis introduces Wimi-net wireless self-organizing network model, carrying out analysis on wireless communication process of tower cranes and detailing the transmitting, receiving and analysis of parameter information of tower cranes. In regard to experimental platform, this system selects SQLite database to manage parameter information of tower cranes, and selects Qt creator as the development tool to design human-computer interaction interface and to simulate operating conditions of tower cranes through the interface. In case of any chance of collision in tower cranes, the system software will alert the driver to pay attention todanger.At last, a simulation experiment of anti-collision system software of the tower cranes has been carried out. And the results indicate that the tower cranes can meet the requirements of avoidance and anti-collision, and the feasibility and validity of the algorithm has been verified, therefore the research task of this project has been achieved.
