The Research Of Tujia Minority Courtyard Layout In Western Hubei

Courtyard space is the most characteristic space of a traditional Chinese living environment, different regions courtyard layout were affected by geographical factors, climatic factors, cultural customs, etc., this shows a wide range of layout features. This essay intends to expand studies on traditional residential building courtyard, taking the patterns, layouts and enclosure elements of E ' Xi Tujia traditional residential building courtyard space as the main object in order to analyze Tujia traditional residential courtyard layout. Through the study of the layout, and strive to find and summarize the component factors of the Tujia traditional courtyard layout area for finding a way of applying those characteristics to modern architectural design based on an analyzed data.Full text is divided into the following parts:The first part of this essay states the background, the purpose and the significance of this study, to carry out an overview and summary of the space for the study of traditional courtyard layout from both at home and abroad, to propose the content and research methods to form the framework of this research.The second part explains the characteristics of traditional Chinese courtyard. To study the appears, courtyard setting, mature and development of the prototype of the courtyard from a historical perspective, analyzing and summarizing the characteristics of both single and multi courtyard, to be as reference materials for the follow-up of Tujia traditional residential courtyard building features.The third part is the core part of this essay. First of all, starting from the study of the formation, influencing factors, and characteristics of Traditional residence in Western Hubei Province, to find out traditional residential layout features, and then to analyze the characteristics of the spatial layout of the courtyard from the formation process, factors, and sum up; secondly, from properties' and spatial's point of view to explain common courtyard layout mode of the courtyard space of Hubei Tujia areas; to extract the constituent elements of the Tujia traditional building courtyard area from the interface of the bottom, top and lateral boundary of interface; to analyze the three-dimensional shape composed of courtyard space from space proportions and spatial scales; and finally, through the study of the above compound in western Hubei Tujia traditional residential architecture analysis to identify its layout rules and characteristics for the next application of these elements and characteristics for modern architectural design guidelines.The fourth part study is to combine the study of those few chapters of courtyard layout, extracting its main elements and features, combined with the characteristics of the Tujia area in modern architectural design, and how these elements and characteristics of proposals in the area are going to be applied.
