Good braking performance of vehicles is an important guarantee of the driver and the occupant safety and one of the important performance of the vehicle. At present, the production line brake testing by manual operation is low efficiency and poor accuracy. It is difficult to guarantee the product quality in mass production. Currently most of the brake test beds are specially used in the laboratory. Their function are many, but low efficiency, complex structure, not suitable for application in production line. It is necessary to research and development of brake on-line detection equipment to meet production demand. The developing equipment can not only improve the quality of brake assembly, but also has important significance for new product development.This article grew out of university-enterprise cooperation project "series of motorcycle brake test bench" brake caliper parts of testing content. On the basis of the QC/T 655-655 specification of brakes for motorcycles and mopeds, the work of brake performance testing equipment is designed and researched. The main work is as follows. First of all, the relationship between brake force and structure parameters was analysed. The effects of caliper related performance on braking performance was researched deeply. According to the different detection content, the corresponding mechanical structure was designed, which included the detection of bleed screw transmissbility, negative pressure sealing, low pressure sealing, pressure sealing and drag torque performance. By analyzing stress state of the various designed valve plug, the rationality of the cylinder selection was verified. Secondly, the corresponding relay control circuit and sensor signal processing circuit was designed from the needs of the hardware control, which realized the digital, analog input and output signal filtering, isolation, amplification processing, to ensure the system stable, reliable operation and data acquisition accuracy. Thirdly, according to the different medium of detection, by use of pneumatic and hydraulic transmission principle, the hydraulic and gas circuits of the detection system were designed. Finally, according to the selection of controller and PC controller, the ladder diagram programming language and configuration software were used to design the PLC control program and PC monitoring system, which realizes the quick clamping, real-time and dynamic monitoring process, automatically determines the detection results and saves the test datum.This paper completed the design, installation and debugging work about on-line testing equipment for the caliper performance of hydraulic disc brake. From the view of the operation, detecting device for the brake caliper is efficient, accurate, high practicality, high automation. They will have a good application prospect in plants.
