Sealing building of nuclear reactor is the last shielding that can prevent escaping of radioactive substance; it is of great importance to nuclear safety function. Therefore, the structural design of reactor building is the key to the whole project. With several nuclear power stations being constructed in succession, we have made great progress in designing of nuclear power stations in China, but we still have little experience in designing of reactor sealing building with high power. Combined with the structural design of China Advanced Research Reactor, this paper provides an analysis on typical issues met in the design.When the reactor buildings are constructed on soil subgrade, the effect of the interaction between subgrade and structure can not ignored. By establishing two-dimension finite element analysis models, the upper structure is simplified to centralizing quality models, soil layer is decomposed by two-dimension plane strain, seismic response spectrum of building foundation in various calculating conditions is got, it is compared with response spectrum of free field.Three-dimension finite element model of the upper structure is established, floor response spectrum, got from the soil-structure interaction, is put into the models. Analysis is done by using finite element program; loads are combined according to criterion, and the max. internal force of bars is achieved.It is the first time that prestressed concrete box-type slab with the span 34m×34m is used for reactor engineering, calculating principle, method and conformation of prestressed concrete with long span are discussed.The design of leakage of the reactor building is the important tache of the whole building structural design, except density of concrete and component crack being controlled, coatings of epoxy resin and glass fiber are provided inside of the building, and also present test project of the building so that the integrity and leakage are verified.Combined with practical engineering, this article presents analysis and summary on several key issues in design of reactor sealing building, and it can be used for reference to the same kind of engineering in future.
