Water is indispensable to the survival of people resources. As fresh water resources, groundwater is the main resource of water in the rural areas. But the extent of industrial pollution is worsening, the groundwater also suffered different degrees of pollution, seriously affect the safety and health of the residents of drinking water. Therefore, we must pay attention to the rational development and utilization of Groundwater resources in today.Water treatment of the traditional control method with manual control mode, using more conventional electrical devices and instrumentation, mainly rely on the operator’s experience and knowledge. This control mode can’t accurate guarantee the water quality of water after treatment, and it is difficult to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the system. It is difficult to real-time monitoring the equipment running status, pipeline pressure, water level, flow, such as valve status information. We must adopt modern control technology and equipment, to design a higher degree of automation, more optimal control system, in order to improve the quality of the water treatment and save treatment funding. The system adopts Siemens PLC and WinCC host configuration software to make up automation control system, to achieve monitoring and control functions of the system.This article takes the renovation project of well water treatment of Qianjin Village as a background. It provided an overview of well water treatment process, and according to water treatment process and functional requirements of Automation System completed its automatic control system design and hardware design and software design of automatic control system. We design the entire treatment process graphical screen with monitoring software WinCC powerful configuration functions, making monitoring more visual and easy for operators to understand the operation of the water treatment process equipment.Finally, it is debugging, including the system debugging of hardware debugging, software debugging, monitoring and control system debugging as well as to the actual operation, and verify the performance of the system reliability and feasibility of each function.The result shows that the control system has efficient, accurate and convenient. Design of automatic control system has been through the review and get the application waterworks, stable and reliable running, bring economic and social benefits for waterworks.
