With the continuous improvement of production technology, the requirements for products of customer have gradually increas ed. This situation is even more evident in the military business. The background of this research and analysis: In the case of serious quality problems of aviation parts factory, the project team uses Six Sigma methods to improve the parts. Purpose of the study: Increased the FTY of reverse piston parts, to meet the requirements of the factory and customer. The main contents are as follows:(1)In the process of the implementation of Six Sigma projects, the project team select incremental improvement way DMAIC. Use brainstorming and Cause and Effect Diagram to analyze the reasons of reverse piston part quality defects. Identify the customer and determine the impact factors by CTQ expanded view and SIPOC. Start measuring systems analysis and process capability analysis;(2) In the analysis phase, the project team use multiple linear regression analysis for process and variables. According the P valu e of minitab, the project team start hypothesis testing for the variable and identify key factor. Quickly modify parameters of key factor, then observe changes of process;(3)In the improvement stage, find out the appropriate parameters by curve fitting graph and make recommendations for improvement. Collect the data after process improvement, and verify the effect difference between before and after improvement by two-sample t-test;(4)In the control stage, Draw I-MR control chart, and make the process and improved operating standards into standard procedures document. Modify the operating method of process and design a file to prevent error from occurring for continuous monitoring and prevention.
