Central business district (CBD) is one of the most important part of a city system, it is a special place where people in city communicate with each other and it is also a vital place shows the city characteristics. The main purpose of this article is to explore the way to combine new business district geographical features and the heritage and regeneration of the historical and cultural atmosphere from the perspective of landscape design.First of all, by analyzing the research and construction practice of domestic and foreign business district planning and design, learning from the successful experience of the business district landscape design, the paper have reviewed the basic theory and the present situation of business district design from two aspects, which are theory and cases. Then, drawing on the phenomenology and the analysis of urban intention, propose putting cultural elements into the specific strategies and methods of commercial district landscape design, especially from space structure and landscape function elements levels. At the same time the article propose putting non-material cultural activities planning into commercial landscape space planning, as a part of commercial district cultural landscape construction.Finally, combined with the Boao Sanjiangkou commercial development projects I participated in, the paper described the above method depending on real project.The results of the article is not only has vital theoretical significance in enriching the existing commercial district planning and design methodology system, but also can help build unique business districts with cultural elements inside instead of the large amount of "stereotyped" nondescript commercial districts.
