Since boiler superheater, reheater and other pipes have problems of creep, overheating, corrosion fatigue, abrasion, weld quality and so on, it easily leads to pipelines leak which has a serious impact on economically and safely operation in power plant. So, monitoring and locating the leakage of pipelines plays an important role in economically and safely operation in power plant.Due to a few studies on acoustic locating technology applying to power plant, several location algorithms that widely applied in cellular network positioning technology, microphone array technology and so on are picked, like Fang, Chan, Taylor algorithm. This paper compares the advantages of these algorithms, expands them to three-dimensional and verifies the cooperative algorithm through computer simulation. Then this paper introduces several time delay estimation algorithms and proposes an improved time delay estimation algorithm.Through computer simulation, this paper researches the parameters of improved time delay estimation algorithm and compares the performance of improved LMS algorithm with other LMS algorithms in low SNR.Combined cooperative locating algorithm with improved LMS algorithm, a set of multi-dimensional array-based 'boiler tube leak acoustic location system' is developed by Matlab GUI. The system hardware and software are given a detailed description of the operation. The operation and functions of the system interface also are introduced in detail.
