TDE-based passive acoustic location is one of the most important methods in the acoustic location field. To improve its performance, TDE and location algorithm as the two key techniques were studied in this dissertation.Four sorts of TDE algorithm were summarized. Each of character was demonstrated by theoretical deduction. Each excellence and suitable applying condition was verified by simulation and experiment. As for the line spectral feature of most target, HHT was used in feature extraction and time-frequency analysis. Moreover, one high precision algorithm was brought forward to solve the low frequency line spectrum TDE. It can remedy the inferior position of other algorithm in the line spectrum TDE, and has similar performance in broad band signal TDE.Four-element cross array and five-element cross array were discussed as location algorithm, and target location accuracy analyzed by MATLAB program. It replaced the approximate expressions which were effective only in far-forth condition. Clarified by simulation and experiment result, five-element cross array is more excellent than four-element cross array in distance accuracy and pitching angle accuracy. four-element cross array is more excellent than five-element cross array in azimuth angle accuracy in some condition. Multi-array long-distance target location algorithm based on hyperbola-cross was discussed. It combined with average probability density data fusion algorithm to dispose maritime test data.
