Research On The Landscape Design Of Modern City Cemetery

Modern city cemetery is a multifunctional space based on its funeral function, brings authenticity, culture, economy, and ecology together in one. By using reasonable landscape planning and a wealth of landscape elements, modern city cemetery can make people face life and death naturally, so as to change the prejudices for so-called cemetery. In this way, it can better integrate into today's urban development. However, since China do not have a mature landscape construction systems and theories for modern city cemetery, many landscape planning simply blindly imitate traditional one without any innovation, which may lead to the loss of local cultural characteristics, and drag down the pace of city development. In this way, cemetery landscape construction therefore cannot be ignored. This paper aim at promoting the integration of modern city cemetery's landscape functional and its artistic one by forming a more developed cemetery construction system.Based on the basic properties and the current research status which related to modern city cemetery, this paper will discuss the research progress of it in history, culture, architecture, and landscape sides both at home and abroad, introduce the concept of cemetery and modern city cemetery, then deeply get to know the history of cemetery and the characteristics of modern cemetery in varies aspects of properties. By analyzing the related cultural basis and theoretical research which landscape design involved in, it brings us that in order to get a better visual effect, only bases on figuring out the funeral culture and combining landscape design, landscape ecology, environmental psychology, landscape aesthetics and other multi-disciplinary theories.Selecting five cemeteries in Fuzhou as cases, to analysis them from the function division and landscape construction aspects. Summarizing the disadvantages of them. Besides, this paper try to do the in-depth research on planning design and artistic skill of modern city cemetery landscape. Firstly, collecting the materials of well-designed modern city cemetery to analysis its space-planning, which helps conclude the basic elements if influence in space-planning. Secondly, according to the analysis of the artistic conception space in modern city cemetery and its construction elements, come up with the proper approaches to deal with the whole and the part in landscape. Thirdly, analyzing the modern city cemetery from the artistic aspect with the theory of landscape aesthetics. Apply the theories and elements to create the modern city cemetery abundantly and aesthetically.Above of all, hoping to provide the certain reference value for building modern city cemetery from the summed up guiding theory in this paper. Of course, paying more attention to the public's psychology when pursuits some kinds of effects from modern city cemetery's landscape at the same time. Lay the foundation of strengthening the construction of innovative, then to develop the derivative value of modern city cemetery.
