Research On The Application Of Negative Space Element On Fashion Design

Human beings live on the earth,explore the objects on the earth.Also explore the unknown space beyond the earth with the development of science and technology.The earth can be seen as a place where humans left their footprints,a subject that has been designed by humans,it is Positive Space.And the outer space of the earth can be seen as the background,it is Negative Space.So macroscopically speaking,the exploration of the background,the Negative Space by humans is constant.Back to design,when a designer create something,there exist blank space,the blank space plays supporting role,but if the designer also put enthusiasm to design the blank space,the whole design will be more powerful.The Positive Space and the Negative Space interact with each other and in an interdepend relationship,they are opposite also unified,express the philosophical thought of the unity of opposites.For the understanding above,in this thesis,author start from the exposition of the Negative Space element,apply the Negative Space element on fashion design innovatively.In addition,consider the peculiarity of the clothes.The research is divided into the following parts: firstly understand the concept and the designing rules of the Negative Space by consulting literatures,summarize the application status of the Negative Space element,including the application on fashion design.Emphatically analyze the cases that apply the Negative Space element on fashion design.Clear and definite the purpose and significance of this research,find the innovation point of this research.Then design the collection under the analytical theory with the source of inspiration.And research the peculiarity of the clothing,combine the Negative Space element with the peculiarity of clothing,expound the method used in this collection design by theory and practice.At last,present the making process and the achievement of the collection.Analyze the shortcomings and put forward the prospect of this research.In this thesis,through by the research above,apply the Negative Space on fashion design innovatively.This thesis has the significance to study.
