Their aesthetic ideas、principle of creation and methods greatly enrich the language of garment design.In the traditional national culture, traditional folk handicrafts are unique for rich content,various kinds, and all kinds of artistic expressions and artistic style of visual effects. In additionto be affected by the philosophy thoughts of Yin and Yang five lines, Shadow also draws onopera, sculpture, wood engravings and other ethnic arts and injected with regional characteristics,but colorful and absorbing. Traditional folk handicrafts focus on the expression of formallanguage features, and use virtual and real, symmetry and balance, harmony and unity, repeatand loop and other aesthetic methods to embody the characteristics of "heavy and light formgod". Meanwhile, these handicrafts use all kinds of irregular dot, line combination performancefor symbolic auspicious patterns to convey the good wishes.As shadow graphics reflect their formal beauty by points and lines, and show theirdecorative beauty with auspicious patterns, and convey their image beauty through auspicious.Therefore, in this paper, we take shadow as an example and start from the origin of the shadow,character costumes and graphics features. By collecting and comparing a large number of imagesand practical research methods, and combining theory of aesthetics and design, we have asystematic analysis for formal language features which are showed by shadow, paper cutting,batik, blue print of "dot" and "line" and the application and their moral of "Auspicious designpatterns".
