| Based on current research related to children’s furniture market,we learned that the demand for children’s furniture is strong,but there are still many problems of children’s furniture: the low level for research of children’s furniture,lack of industry standards,low sustainability,and so on.At the same time,we also had to face the severe natural resources and the environment,as a designer,we have the responsibility to make rational design to bring the benefit for mankind.Therefore,this paper proposes the design of Sustainable for Children’s Furniture.The object is achieved by deeply studing the principle of children’s furniture and principles of sustainable design,to ascertain the similarities and differences between the two,identify the focus of the two,and discussing the method of the sustainable design children’s furniture.Then applied the method in practice,making the design of the products have been able to grow along with the children,to extend the life of children’s furniture,making ourown contribution for today’s resource-saving society.Through browsing large number of documents identifying the physiological and psychological characteristics of children at different ages,the principles of children’s furniture design and sustainable design development process,etc.Making market research to find out the current status children’s furniture sustainable design and summarized the method of children’s furniture for sustainable design.Field research to understand the user’s perception of children’s furniture,communicating actively with the real user,summarizing constantly.Finally,I sort out the dilemma for different ages of children’s furniture sustainable design,explored the possibility for the different life cycle of children’s furniture sustainable design,and in compliance with the design principle of the children’s furniture proposed the method of sustainable design foe children’s furniture,for example,feature-rich design,modular design,sustainable materials design,moderate decoration.At last,performing the design of children’s beds for children 0-6 years.By further analysis for this stage of the physiological and psychological status of children,using modular,multi-functional design approach to design,providing practical direction for the sustainable design of children’s furniture. |
