Research On Grass Linen And Its Innovative Applications In The Design Of Women’s Wear

Along with the social development,people are not interested in mechanized products anymore and the simple,old-fashioned and natural grass linen comes back to people’s concern.Grass linen is famous for ’Living fossil of world textiles’.The earliest ramie fabric in China is the remained piece from the Neolithic Age,4700 years ago.This thesis summarized the grass linen and its historical development and analyzed the rising and declining periods of grass linen and discussed the reasons.Based on grass linen itself,the features of its weaving processes,functions and colors are analyzed.The reasons why the development of grass linen was hindered are summarized,which give the start pointcut and standpoint for the innovative practice of grass liner.This study has an innovative practice from the materials,decoration methods and structure of the grass linen.Different materials are compared with the grass linen and the characteristics of the materials are summarized.Different decoration methods are adopted for innovation.Screen printing and foaming printing have better performance while laser engraving does not.In the structure design,the mosaic gives the grass linen a sense of liveliness and rhythm as a special way.The innovation of grass linen lies in the texture effect shown by various materials and method.Therefore,it is used in the graduation design.Through practice,the innovation on grass linen enables me to have better expectations.
